As far as I can see they AREN'T "impersonating another researcher". They're not pretending to be that person - just obvious parodies.

As someone that has been targeted in the past (and made extremely upset, confused and frightened as a result incidentally) I welcome the parodist(s) attempt to give us all a good laugh.
So far none of the interactions have been in any way nasty.

And I'd also like to say that if it turns out to be a self-parody and the person in question continues to behave the same way why shouldn't we continue to take her at face value.

Some, like the thalidomaide victim who has become a successful actor, and writer of a West End Show about the famous Coney Island freak Sealo The Seal Boy, flourish in their idiosyncracies. This is called RECLAMATION and works on the same premise as black people who call themselves N***** and homosexuals who call themselves Q****. It's irony. Yet the fact exists that people still take chunks out of the afflicted and call them sickening, debilitating, horrifyingly hurtful names without any understanding of WHAT IT's LIKE.

I'm not going to elaborate on DID, you should all have enough information on it by now to make your own personal decisions on whether it is "reality" or "delusion". But I am operating on the principle that it is "her" reality which should be respected, as I expect people to respect Ben's reality that she is a being of peace , Mina's that she is an Ubervixen , and mine that I somehow have a position of authority on human behaviour on account of being the f***ed-up orphaned only-child who got a decade of abuse from his father and was left wanting to die . Question that as much as you like, but that's my reality, and like it or not the best you'll ever manage to change that is to take it to the bank, cash it and go on holiday the f*** out of my life.

I was however, the fortunate soul who the TNG alter known as Girl(Who Is Not, By Her Own Admission, The Right Girl, But At Least Has The Self-Respect To Follow Her Heart, For Which I Am Eternally Touched) opened the wfg account to get in touch with. We have since become friends, though I suspect I put a spanner in the works recently when I emailed to say I wanted no more communication from anyone on the constant intellectual flanning sessions you torpid idiots seem to consider reasoned debate.

I treated her *individual reality* as her right, which for better or worse is as valid as my right to my opinion when ripped to the tits on cannabis (which I often am, and on evidence appear to be more lucid than the peripatetic lushes who frequent this site) and for a while earned her trust and helped her (I hope) in some small way to coalesce with the LeKZ system, to gain strength against the barrage of abuse she, and others accused of being LeKZ, have received.

People who trounce upon the concept of other people's realities, especially those whom the moral majority consider "wrong" are denying their right to freedom of conscience, which is a contravention of their human rights under Article 18, and BIGOTRY.

Would you consider it acceptable perhaps if someone became the subject of parody on a par with their h2g2 persona, perhaps "The Giant Negro Monster Who Sang But Not Loud Enough?" Of course not, because that would be RACISM. (Sorry, Big) Would you consider it acceptable if I came up with a persona like "Minnie, Muse Of Self-Esteemless Primadonnas With A Superiority Complex"? I doubt it.

It defies belief that people on this site desperately claw across the fora on a premise that they are paragons of intelligence, peace and understanding yet turn out to be so categorically peaceless. You should be utterly ashamed of yourselves. I think the parody accounts are hilarious. I also think that they should be wiped immediately. In the same way that I laugh at Bernard Manning's jokes, but go out of my to avoid them because they are disgraceful and disgusting. (For all you non-English, Bernard Manning tells racist, sexist, bigoted jokes to perfection).

I read your posting, C* M* but didn't understand what point you were trying to make. Do you think the Parody accounts should be left as they are or do you think the author of them should be reprimanded?

And, for some people, and for LeKZ, who are most likely reading the pages, or have heard of them, it's not even funny. And it's potentially hurtful and traumatic.

I'm the head administrator of an online MU* called Sanctuary, which is a haven for abuse survivors. And if anyone were to post such "parody" that was personally directed at another Sanctuary user, I or another admin would remove the posts immediately, and give the poster a severe warning.

Sanctuary goes out of its way to try and be a safe place for people who are often fragile and emotionally damaged, and a place to help them heal. I realise that the real world makes no such claims for consideration of possible triggers, and general safety.

But for a place like h2g2, which is generally a friendly, supportive community, to tolerate this kind of behaviour really seems wrong to me.

I know two wrongs don't make a right. But experience suggests HVL is strong enough to cope. LeKZ isn't.

The BooHooHoo a/c was opened after the HoAX accounts, so it seems more likely that someone has started the meme that Hoovooloo is the HoAXer, and that the BooHooHoo account is retaliation for the others. Or just a flip on the cyber-stalking theme of long and vituperative emails and long and vituperative phone messages.

But I am curious, Chris, why do you think that HVL is our international man of mystery?

On a more personal note, I am aware that I am in an untenable position: espousing peace and tolerance, but failing to take LeKZ's pain seriously.

Perhaps I would take it more seriously if she stopped banging her head against the brick wall.

Firstly I'd like to say that I haven't been at h2g2 for about 3 months so knew nothing about what's Quincy, wallflowergirl and pepe le pew till after I had read the parodies and went to find the originals.
Silent Lucudity, on the other hand, had me taken in completely and that deception caused me a great deal of pain.
Violent Duplicity's Spiel of the Wounded Whale was absolutely brilliant (so brilliant in fact that I originally (erroneously) accused someone I know to have done it) and it makes such a lovely change to be targeted with humour.

Maybe it is just humour.

Maybe it is someone trying to show how easy it is to make people see bogeymen where they aren't.

Maybe it is a self-parody.

Who knows!

What I was trying to say in that last paragraph was that LeKZ seemed to have a pretty good sense of humour as well as a really good brain and an extremely big heart.
I would have been happy to have become a friend if she hadn't terrified me by unloading truckloads of venom and hate (and then tried to pretend it didn't matter.
I've been hated since the day I was born - believe me it DOES matter - and as far as I can see there are a fair number of people on this site that have had the same sort of experience and wouldn't want to stay anywhere where they would have to even be on the periphery.

I eneded up trying to avoid her, for the sake of my own mental health, but got drawn into Silent Lucidity's machinations and ended up avoiding this whole place for a while.

If this was a self-parody (which I can't see, but you lot are much better judges of the way humans' think than I am) I can't see that it's doing anyone any harm and I for one would be happy to continue to interact with the witty, friendly-seeming person behind it as long as it stays on that footing and away from conflict.
