Thanks for this description of Morris Dancing! I don't think I ever heard of that before you mentioned that you are doing it as a hobby.

Do you know if there are also groups outside the UK keeping these traditions alive, maybe brought by British emigrants to North America or Australia?

From what I saw when I did the internet search there are some groups in Australia, New Zealand and the USA. I don't know much about them though. I did, however, read an interesting account of how Morris travelled to the US. Apparantly the kit, bells, sticks, etc. were in the ships' inventories that travelled over to colonise the 'new world'.
