Ok, who needs accommodation?
Suggestions and requests here please. Ta.
So far the Travel Inn has been suggested, the one on Geroge St. is the most central, and isn't far from where we would probably be.
Details on the main page.

Just osted this over there...
Anyone know of any hostels in Glasgow?

I've just received a mailing from SYHA. They're bound to have a hostel or two in Glasgow. The backpackers hostels I stayed in before (Edinburgh and Oxford) were good. I'll go look at the links I have.

Page updated to include links to hostels and a few hotels plus the Scottish Accommodation site. Can everyone let me know what you find out, so I can post results and let as many people know Ta.

Wumbe has posted info on the Youth Hostel in the other thread. Its a wee, but not difficult, walk from the centre of town and does have lovely views of Kelvingrove Park and its illicit goings on Actually, I have a mate who lives next door and it is a very nice bit of town.

If need be, I will be able to put up one or two, or maybe even three, people at my place. If nee be. But if would be nice to hear in advance, as I would also be tempted to get a roo in Glasgow, so I won't have to suffer the annoyance of missing another train... Again...

Unless rules have changed, Youth Hostels used to have a 11pm curfew. The backpackers hostels usually give you a keycode, so you can roll in
whenever you like.
Are the backpackers links up there on the page?
However, at £35 for two (maybe more?) sharing a room, Ibis hotel sounds a good bet, and pretty much as cheap as a city centre hostel anyway. IMHO.

Well I have just booked the old Ibis. We'll see what it is like.
I'd doubt the Youth Hostel shuts at eleven, all the pubs are still open. Maybe their web site says.

Solsbury Posted Oct 17, 2001
Probably would stay open (or at least give you a back door code).
Still just booked into the hotel Abyss anyway.

I'm looking for anywhere, at worst I'll sleep in Kelvingrove park, lol! I used to live up by the youth hostel, so if they'll let us in after 11 pm, stick with me and I'll show you how to get there! Otherwise, can I kip on someone's floor? Or even better, if anyone's driving back to Edinburgh can I have a lift and I'll go half on the petrol money?

Hmm... Ibis v hostel... think maybe Ibis wins as hostel still haven't got back to me after a whole week. Of course, this is where I find that for some strange reason they find themselves unexpectedly fully-booked on the night in question...

Way! All night party in the Ibis bar
Or possibly just for half an hour until their paltry beer selection (I'd assume) drives us screaming from the place.

It's pretty cool cos my mate Sarah wants to come now, so I can crash at hers, yay!

Not really now, she won't make her mind up whether to come or not. She's making me very angry.

Well you can assure her that it will be fun, none of us is a nutter, we shall always be in a public place should one of us turn out to be a nutter and that non-H2G2 people have turned up to these things on a number of occasions without any harmful side effects, apart from possible becoming an H2G2 person

Yeah, I've tried. I am not sure she likes the whole 'sci-fi' thing, although I have tried and tried to reassure her we are NOT Dr Who freaks or anything like that! I'm gonna phone her tonight or tomorrow and find out for sure, I am annoyed at her cos I don't know for definite and it's not fair to everyone else, including me. Grrr!
