Me too. I don't remember the days pre-Rupert, and I always wanted to be part of the gang. Not that anyone ever pulled rank, or was anything other welcoming, but occasionally there were just these mooment when you couldn't quite join in the conversation because you weren't there, man...

The "community" (in its online sense, a marketing term I loathe) is not the people who are active on the site, but everyone who should be able to read it: those who love it now and will in the future.
Can someone explain to me how it is right that a so-called government that has not won an election can effect the destruction of our recent heritage?

Vip Posted Jan 24, 2011
Because a government that was voted in crashed the economy?
Seriously though, that isn't really worth discussing except perhaps on a seperate thread for people who want to get hot headed about such things.
Cut happen in times of austerity. h2g2 really isn't a priority for the BBC. We had a good ten years under the BBC. That's better than the zero years we'd've had without them.

Thanks for letting us know, Nick.
I will miss H2G2 if it goes. But - nothing lasts forever.
And having supported my husband through the decommissioning of his own part of the BBC, and subsequent redundancy, my thoughts are mostly with the staff.
