You can try logging out fully and logging in again - sometimes it gets stuck half way and needs to start the process again.

I'm informed that the new, approved procedure is now referred to as 'rebuild' rather than 'reinstall'

You can call me TC

(24 hours later) I don't think defragging would have helped so long as England were playing.

Gnomon - time to move on

This is _not_ a problem with your computer, GandalfsTwin, it is a problem with h2g2.

At the time the OP was posted I was flipping between h2g2 pages that said I
was logged in and others that said I was not. It was kinda 50/50; every other
page did not recognise me. I would have replied but the reply page said I
was not logged in even though the convo page said I was.

Malabarista - now with added pony

GT, rather than the announcements page, could you take this kind of thing to <./>Feedback-Bugs<./>?

As you'll see above: "This forum is not a public announcements forum. It is reserved for editors to post important news about h2g2, such as new versions of the site, or changes to official areas of h2g2.

Please don't start new threads here, as we anticipate lots of subscriptions to this page."

OK Mal.

Consider it closed. (by me anyway!)

This is the place I got kicked to when trying to register a complain!

smiley - ok Thanks. I'm just being selfish - I don't make it online as much as I'd like, and having my space get irrelevant postings (I'm one of those subscribed here for the news) just means more to wade through when I do get here!

(And sorry, that should be <./>Feedback-Bugs</.> *previewismyfriend* )
