I see that topic drift is running rampant even in a thread about malfunctions.

Alabaster is not a malfunction. It's a perfectly fine format that has stood the test of time. If you are used to goo or Brunel or whatever else is on the menu, but your personal space is working all right in Alabaster, you have a *small* problem, not a *big* problem. If, however, you can't even *get* to your personal space, and there are zero researchers logged on, then you do have a big problem. Ironically, you can't even get into H2G2 to gripe about it. smiley - erm

(If you want really extreme topic drift, last night I dreamed I was clinging to the top of the Empire State Building during an earthquake. smiley - yikes

Goo is blue!

Blue is Goo!

smiley - erm It's much more soothing to the eye than those blinding white backgrounds.

And I'm glad it's back. smiley - biggrin

Lady Scott, I respectfully disagree with you about the white backgrounds. They have not blinded me yet, despite years of effort. smiley - ok I *still* think that having access to your personal space, albeit it in a different color format, is a smaller problem than having no access whatsoever.

Baron Grim

The point is not really which skin is better or not... the point is that today the servers were so whacky they kept switching back and forth whilst dumping all the users.

I was not so upset at seeing alabstr as I was that I couldn't get on... but when I did I thought... "Wow... this a new glitch... What the heck is going on NOW?"

"The problem with the Alabaster skin was I even got the reply in Alabaster trying to post to the HUB.

You mean brunel has colours?

On most systems I have the background colours disabled. . .
Pure white background with black text on all sites in all skins.

Some of us still like Goo better. smiley - smiley

It was just plain smiley - weird when the address line would still say "classic", while bringing the page up in Alabaster, and very confusing when it *changed* the address to Alabaster without even asking my permission! smiley - doh

Even during the problems I may have set a record. I accessed Hootoo inside the Arctic Circle last week, although I was unable to log on. We should start a contest, who's up for a trip to the equator? smiley - laugh

You may well have been beaten to the Arctic circle by one of the large Nordic contingent we have here on hootoo.
