I'd like to come, and am encouraged by the fact the train journey will be £5 each way, but can't say for certain.

Just to point out to those of you who have partners that might be upset - the Sunday is Valentine's Day. Thankfully Mr Vip is understanding in such matters.

I'll add you to the list, BB!

I'll be there! Though I will probably lag behind somewhat and drag myself along around two thirty. Friday night is my birthday proper and I will be getting smiley - drunk and and so I refuse to agree to get up early... However I'm planning on doing some planning this weekend so I should be able to guide us in the right direction smiley - smiley

Out of interest, food... Will we be wanting to have a late lunch/early dinner together mid afternoon or lunch early and dinner later??? I dont want to go spending lots of smiley - 2cents cos I dont have a lot so I assume the same will follow for most other people... Worst case scenario is a Wetherspoons halfway between the centre and clifton...

I suggest an early tea/dinner/supper. We can then get lunch as we wish, so those with less smiley - 2cents can pack a few sandwiches, whilst those whit plenty to rub together don't feel guilty about the eating the finest foodstuffs known to man. Or something.

It's a theory... Anyway. if Robyn won't be with us until later (I suggest we wait for her in the coffee shop and class her as a straggler) then it would be mean to eat without her.

If anyone wants to exchange mobile numbers, contact me at laura _ sheep @ hotmail dot com (without spaces etc...) and we'll link up.

Right, I'll grab something to eat before I come out and we'll eat later somewhere reasonable say around five or six or something?

Sorry to bang on, I get stressed about arrangements if I dont know what I'm doing! smiley - tongueout It just bugs me when people are all wondering and nobody's asking what's going on so I tend to get a bit obsessed. I'll behave!!!

Anyway, yes, tomorrow I will be investigelating the sights and some things for us to do (and there is always the museum, free entry, if it's horrid weather and far too cold and wet for wandering around outside as a starter for ten).

I am officially a straggle. r. smiley - smiley

Maybe any early birds could meet somewhere like the Arnolfini (if it still has a decent cafe) then there are quite a few water/dock based attractions in walking distance?

Yes it is still here:

A museum sounds good to me, especially in the rain.

If you could find a coffee shop that's easily spotted from the train station that would also be great, as it's our meeting place.

Actually, sod meeting at the train station, we may as well meet at the coffee shop. I'll make sure that I display either an h2g2 t-shirt or my copy of the Hitchhiker's Guide prominently on the table (or in my hands as I read it) so you know who to approach.

The Watershed also has quite a nice cafe/bar, though it can be a bit pretentious. Or Mud Dock if you're into bicycles...

I've not been to the Arnolfini in AGES!

Lanza, do you have a mobile? If so, I'll message you my number on FB and we can stay in touch on the day that way if that's ok with you?

Ah, I was going for a bit of nostalgia. When it first opened it was known as the Anal phoney. I remember going to see an exhibition of some various skinny tree trunks, randomly placed smiley - shrug My daughter thought it was a climbing frame (she was only 3 or 4 at the time. We got glared at by the attendant.

Yes, I'll send you my mobile number Robyn smiley - smiley
