smiley - ok

smiley - biggrin Sometimes, when I wake up and look to see if anything good has come into PR overnight, it is a real joy to find a contribution like this to read whilst I have some smiley - coffee. It makes being a scout worthwhile

smiley - book I shall have to come back to this as I should be elsewhere, but it is fascinating. One thing I spotted which I suggest you might change:

<>

smiley - biro Remove 'entire' as it is rather a contradiction of the rest of the sentence.

I will come back and read properly. I am not likely to forget as the song is now buzzing round in my head smiley - musicalnote and won't go away! smiley - smiley

Back as promised! A very entertaining and educational read Dmitri, very enjoyable.

Only noticed two places where hyphens might be better.

miniseries ---> mini-series

reelection --->re-election

smiley - ok

Thanks, Websailor - well spotted, I took out that 'entire'.

Lazababy, I hyphenated those words. Thank you - American orthography strikes again, everybody writes 'miniseries' around here.smiley - smiley

Bob, I noticed Pailaway has already done the Bowie knife. There's certainly a wealth of material out there.

Somebody sent me an email of quotes yesterday. One was from a film in which a character said (I'm paraphrasing), 'We're Americans. You know what that means. It means our ancestors were kicked out of every decent country in the world. We're the wretched refuse.' smiley - rofl

Hi there! I like this a lot. smiley - ok

smiley - biroWhat's the Red Scare? Could we have a footnote for tose of us lacking in teh American History department? smiley - blush

smiley - biroHow can the series have first aired on two seperate dates? (Footnote 1).

smiley - biro"... proud of: woodsman..." do you want an 'a' before woodsman? Ah, no, I've got it; you needs semi colons rather than commas for each part of that sentence. Or not... I'm nit really sure. Nw I've read it a few times I understand it, but it really confused me when I first read it. Perhaps take abother look at this bit?

smiley - biroIn 'King of the Wild Frontier', you state his age as 12, fifteen, and 16. I think writing it out as twelve, fifteen and sixteen is correct bit 12, 15 and 16 would be fine as ling as you're consistant.

smiley - biro Who is Andrew Jackson? Again I might eb showing my lack of knowledge here.

This is lovely! smiley - applause

smiley - fairy

Beautifully written!

Surprised there was no mention of the classic question 'How many ears does Davy Crockett have?'

The answer, of course, is three, including his 'wild frontier'.

smiley - rofl Elektra is over here yelling, 'Tell them about the Red Scare, they'll think it's Red Indians!' smiley - rofl

I will give you footnotes on the Red Scare - you people are showing your youth, that was in the 50s - and footnote Old Hickory (shame, he's on the 20-dollar bill, the old villain) and change the numbers, thanks for spotting that.

And I'll go look at whatever it is that's confusing you about that sentence, if I can find it, Vip.smiley - run

Oh, and the series can have first aired on different dates because it was a series.

Different parts first aired on different nights, as part of the Disney 'Frontierland' series.

Yeah that woodman one does look fine to me now, but I had to read it four or five times to really get it. Now I've got it though, I can't understand why I had such a problem with it. smiley - erm I guess if nobody else thinks it's a problem we can write it off as a Vip-ism. smiley - biggrin
