*Ahh but light creates shadow. Thus your strongest defense creates that which you fight against. The shadow-dome collapses and infuses down among all the fragments of light surrounding each one and containing it perfectly. Ice floats gently to the ground and draws his weapon (which looks kinda like a black lightsaber, being made from the abyss and all). He strikes a defensive pose focuses the power of his blood, in his minds eye he sees the darknes inside of Mystrunners body begin to solidify and condense into tangibilty. Forming into small arms they writhe and seek major organ groups to grip and constrict*
"...And Cain was cast out into Nod and there in the wilderness he met a woman who was clothed in darkness and wielded the night as a weapon. Lillith, first wife of Adam taught Cain to use the Curse as his own power and to pass on those dark gifts to his childer"
Do you think you can defeat powers older than the concept of time. The Dark Mothers gifts do not come cheaply and they are not so easily vanquished. Now... face the lessons of pain.
*The arms continue to attack from inside Mystrunner, as shadow pull from thier projecting bodies to flit aggrivatingly about Mystrunners eyes and face in an attempt to distract him. Ice steps into a shadow and emerges near Mystrunner swing his dark blade in a leathal arc*

Yet, was Lillith not impaled on the Lance of Longinus? The weapon to smite evil?
*When the tendrils touch on Mystrunner's body, they begin to burn.*
*Draws twin heron mark katanas*
Defend yourself, foul shade. I will illuminate your soul...

*The weaves of spirit around the blades unravel, to reveal them unharmed.*
Heron mark blades are forged from the one power. Nothing is known to break them. Many men who have them try to sharpen them, but they only wear away at their whetstones...
Everyone here needs to read Robert Jordan's wheel of time series. Truly breath taking...

you wouldn't want to take one breath - great start but now sloppy and padded out to make money from the poor hooked fans (like me). I oscillate between fascination and contempt.

[Corrigible] Yep. Either these guys are WAY too skilled for any real fight to work, or they're just lamerish noronic twinks who refuse to get admit getting hit. I almost wish the H2G2 had a coded combat system. [yawn]

*KL sighs*
Mystrunner, would you mind taking this to the battlefield? It's already too hard to clean up in here without you bending space/time and all that junk.

It's that way.
*GL points and knocks over the stack of books beside him.*
Oh! I almost forgot to tell you all about these books I've read in the last few months...

*Shadows of light swirl around Mystrunner, and with a flash of grey light, he is gone.*

I heard that!
*Puts another book on the stack. Climbs down from the ladder.*
That one was "Stowaway" by, um, I forget who. It was written in the form of a journal by the 11 year old stowaway on Captain Cook's first voyage. The journal, while fictional, was true to the actual facts of the voyage, based on Cook's own journal and the journal of one of the naturalists on board. And there really was an 11 year old stowaway on that voyage. It was a cool book. Amazing what those explorers did.
*Types at his computer.*
Okay, the author is Karen Hesse.
