I bought an electric shaver a long time ago, just plug it in and shave the head. Doesn't have to be "bald" can be just "close crop" - which my son prefers. It is done in a few minutes, and saves all that messing about with scissors! (I would be afraid of clipping the ear
)
to your son, and you!

That's what I did the last time, he had borrowed a shaver. He looked like a brute, not like my son.
I guess I'll rather mess about with the scissors than doing that again.

There's a large-trim comb with my hair shaver, which still leaves a full head of hair. It's called comb 3, if you can get such an attachment, it's not like a "skinhead" cut (and suits my Andrew)

The trick is still to get the back and sides just a tad sorter than the top, to blend it well, and to get a neat finish around the back of the neck with the trimmer guard off...
I used to love shaving my little brother's head. He was less impressed. Usually because I'd insist on doing a mohawk before I'd shave the rest off, and then pretend I wasn't going to shave that bit off until he begged for a while...

Fortunately, my son has curly hair, so it doesn't show if I don't cut it the same length throughout.

I always wanted curly hair!

I've straightened mine with ceramic plate straighteners once or twice but I prefer to have it curly and wavy and bouncy. I always wanted it deep copper, long and curly Alas it's stunningly dark, glossy and long with a slight wave (well, it is the day after I've washed it... If I brush it when it's *just* dry I have perfect 80s model hair, it's big, it stands out, it looks back-combed and hairsprayed...)
We all want what we cant have I guess!

Yes, usually, we do. I'm old enough to have made my peace with my hair, though. Actually, I like it as it is - just not the grey colour.

Mk2 bought me one of those Babyliss for me things from Argos, its a great wee hair cutter! Really easy for me to use as well, it also comes with a trimmer, which Mk2 does the edges for me with.
She has been cutting my hair for the past 18 years, but her eyes are not as good as they were, but she can still trim the neck line for me
