This one has been milling around in my head since last Christmas! I wrote it while trundling about the woods collecting the logs my men had sawn up and enjoying the fresh air.
It's awfully long - perhaps someone could help me condense it a bit?

Well, if you're thinking of shortening the entry: the intro and the 'fireplace' section would IMHO make up a separate entry

Thank you. Yes, I suppose the introduction is not really on the subject. I'd still like to keep it, though, and maybe I'll cut out the fireplace bit, although that explains a lot of typical German stuff.

Superfine entry, verry interesting and covers the subject well.
I don't think it needs to be any shorter.
One thing is that maybe you\d want to change the "We" thing on footnote 4

Thank you. I may leave that for the subed, so my unofficial version is a little more personal. I hope other people enjoy it. I can't imagine many people will actually use the information, although if that was everyone's attitude, nothing would get written!

The closing paragraph will probably get edited out too, because you're writing about yourself. Apart from that, great Entry!
I'm just surprised you didn't use 'I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK' as the opening line!
