I know this one. Mine just likes to be picked up when you're keyboarding.
The cats don't climb on the keyboard, though they used to climb on the piano.
Which proves...that they really were trying to play. (The keyboard doesn't make any fun noises when it's off.)

Our cats used to do that - preferably in the middle of the night.
We only discovered the piano had a lid the day we gave it away...
