Cheeky I know, but ...

It's cheeky I know, but does any Scottish Researcher have a domestic sewing machine with an overlocker function I could borrow for a weekend?

I've lost a lot of weight (yay for me) and want to take in some t-shirts, etc, and do some other jobs that really do need an overlocker, or a zig-zag at least, but my Grandma's lovely old singer only stitches in straight lines.

I could get one off ebay or Gumtree, but I thought I'd ask for a borrow before spending out cash.

Cheers

Ben
PS - I'd collect it and bring it back to you, obviously.

That would be a bit of a problem Dr Anthea! smiley - silly

Fords, I have quite a bit to do: several t-shirts and a couple of skirts to make thinner which would work out quite pricey, and also some embroidery / appliqueing to upcycle some old clothes into new ones.

It's a couple of days' worth of one-offs jobs, and price of repairs makes it worth spending £50 on a 2nd hand machine to do them. But I'd rather not have two sewing machines, and I'd rather not spend fifty quid if I don't need to.

When I say "a couple of days" it's not a couple of days solid. It's a couple of days interspersed with going online, doing the washing, doing some cooking, putting the cat out, letting the cat in, putting the cat out again, going to Morrisons, reading the paper, thinking I should be studying, not doing any ironing, letting the cat in, and doing some sewing.
