Weather Phenomena

Thunderstorms are a natural meteorological phenomenon, consisting of clouds, wind, moisture and temperature variations.
While considered to be dangerous, they provide a pretty good light show with sensory features such as negative ion bombardment and light static charges. Occasionally some poor creature gets the charge's full load and dies, or becomes an artist. In most thunderstorms there is usually an accompanying shower of water (known as "rain"), but if you're lucky the rain will get altered in the atmosphere and pellet down as frozen balls. Which reminds me...ah, but that's another subject altogether... Anyway, these rain pellets (known as "hail") can vary in size from quite small like a BB (I hope someone has already covered the subject of BBs elsewhere) all the way up to golf ball-sized and even baseball-sized (check "balls" for cross-references). It is generally recommended not to get caught in the middle of one of these meteorological events, but many people enjoy the buffeting winds and electrified air that accompanies a good storm. Besides, how else can you collect hailstones to put in the freezer for proof when you file a claim on your homeowner's insurance? (Check for cross-references on "insurance".)
