Sneaky Posted Dec 29, 2003
The drive north on I-55 from West Memphis to Cape Girardeau has to be the most boring three hours...extreme danger of falling asleep at the wheel. What on Earth possessed people to reclaim river delta swampland is beyond me.

Hi SuperMoo. What part of Florida you in? I'm currently in Pensacola myself, having moved here from Sarasota. It ain't so bad round these parts, you just need A/C and a bottle of suds. Remember, this is supposed to be paradise.

...central florida...the place where, at least when I moved to florida, you could time your watch by the storms...At 3:00 every day it started to rain during the summer...

At least it doesn't rain long in that part of FL. If memory serves the storms are only about fifteen to twenty minutes long. BTW, when was that? When I first (well, first time paying my own rent) moved to Florida back in '00 there was a pretty bad drought going on. I'm not too sure if it's still going on, as I was living in a costal spot, but it was bad enough to make fireworks illegal during July 4th for a few years at least.

I remember that...I think of it every time I pass this tent where they sell fireworks...the funny thing is that it still rained several times a week during that...instead of every day...other than the past few days it where we've had some pretty strong storms, the storms usually don't last too long...

Hi. I'd like to join if I could. I'm from Echola, Alabama, home of one of the(if not the) smallest post offices in the United States and where we still make our own .

You've been added.
The town where my mom used to live had a tiny post office. I recall the building being about the size of my bedroom, maybe less. I just read something, possibly in a Reader's Digest, about the smallest post office in the US. I think it was something like 9'x7'.

The post office in Echola is forty-two square feet if I recall correctly. There was an article about it in The Birmingham News about nine years ago.I'll go check it out and get back to y'all about it.

You win.
There's a blurb in Reader's Digest this month about theAmerica's smallest post office. I'ts in Ochopee, Florida. It's 8'4" wide by 7'3" deep. That's still bigger than 42 square feet.
