Nice little entry but not really big enough to be put in the guide by itself. Maybe you could add some more infomation to it, like the genral idea of the pokemon world (ie to catch all the stupid creatures)
You might also want to do some research into the idea of pokemon and who started it etc.
On the whole a nice cute entry but still needs a little work. Anyone else agree with me?

Maybe, but if the entry s caled the bluffers guide, so that stuff isn't really required.
However, the entry could do with being enlarged a bit, a few definitions, examples a mentio of the TV show and films (a true bluffer should be able to tell you which is better) etc

This is a good entry, but I think I read somewhere in the guidelines, try not to be humourous - be yourself. Obviously, the whole crux of this entry is its' humour, but unfortunately, it doesn't offer any more than the edited guide that already exists for Pokemon.
Try being more descriptive about the gameplay - I've never played it, but are there any strategies to adopt whilst playing? Is there a way of cheating?

Doh! should have checked current entries, but Ad & Trees are right, this doesn't really add anything that can't be found in the current entry To do so you'll really have to expand someting - maybe a "Bluffers Guide to Kids game"

(I only knew that there's an entry already for Pokemon because a kid in my class wanted to write an entry on it - I told them there's no point).

Somebody mentioned being able to say whether the TV show or movies are better. The true bluffer should know that it's whichever the person you're trying to bluff knows least well. Of course, the kids who see all this stuff probably know both, but it's worth a shot. Something like:
Kid: Pokemon the movie is cool!
Bluffer: Ah, but the movie debases the nobility of the TV series.
Kid: The TV Series is cool too!
Bluffer: But that too is but a weak version of the collectible card game.
Kid: I've got all the Pokemon cards!
Bluffer (getting desperate): Not that you can ever truly appreciate Pokemon unless you've experienced it in the original Japanese.
Kid: Konichiwa!
Now there's an article that could fly; a true bluffer's guide, in the spirit of the Bluff Your Way series, which tells you how to talk to kids who are into Pokemon and sound like you understand it all.
Not that I could write it myself. I scarcely know the difference between a Charizard and a Jigglypuff.

i have to say though, why would anyone want to bluff that they know about pokemon. surely people would prefer to bluff that they didn't know about pokemon so they keep some street cred.

Ahh... it all depends on whether or not you need to impress eight year old child children. Ever taught at a summer school?

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Aug 20, 2001
I doubt you'd bluff your way very far with this approach. My six-year-old daughter can tell you the names of all 252 Pokemon, along with the conditions under which they evolve, what element they belong to and what powers they have. She can also talk about all this for up to an hour without apparently drawing breath.

Hi there!
I agree totally with you, Gnomon.
The following may sound very very harsh, but...
If someone who had no idea about Pokémon read this, they'd be no more knowledgable than they were in the first place.
Please don't take offence at this, but with the words:
'Pikachu is a small yellow rabbit that has been run over repeatedly by a lorry. Or so itseems. It also has scary eyes and weird red cheeks that crackle.'
You would be laughed at by a seven year old who would then possibly give you a lecture on how Pikachu is a yellow mouse Pokémon, plus all its stats, moves, appeal, and how you were completely and utterly wrong.
Yes, this is really really harsh, but as there is already an Edited Guide entry on Pokémon (here if you want to read it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A264863 ), there really is no need to bluff it.
Again, apologies if I have sounded a lot harsher than I usually do.

I agree with the above comments. Given that the author has been AWOL for a bit, should we begin considering a move to the Flea Market?

AWOL is when someone becomes really flat and white, and starts supporting the side of the house, and pictures on the inside, and lovers climbing on the outside.
