*for the last few weeks, as this mighty maximegayacht has been
submerged beneath the atlantic, alec has been reading all the relevant user manuals
about the operation of the vessel beneath the waves...or,
as the manual puts it : "in wet negative sea-level situations"*
Today, children, we will learn about the ships ballast system...
all the hot air
the steam
and er...various other organic gases emitted by the pirates, has been stored in huge collection tanks under immense pressure.
The purpose is twofold :
1.When mixed with the methane gas collected from er
other sections of the backlog collection tanks,
it is the perfect fuel for running the generators.
2.When i open these valves here, the high pressure gas flows through
flexible hoses up each of the masts, along the yardarms, and down
through inflatable inserts sewn into the sails...
These inflate, causing our beloved craft to float gently to the
surface.
3.In order to overcome the ascending altitude attitude
adjustment effect amongst the assembled argonauts,
small quantities of the gas are released at strategic points
around the vessel, so don't be surprised if, during the ascent,
old conversations keep cropping up
or you come round the corner and there's a wall of backlog
where no wall was before.
When the order to surface is given, it will take a few hours before we get up to crows nest depth.
Please keep your hands inside the vessel at all times during the operation.
