The Wurzels

1 Conversation

Ah, The Wurzels... Almost certainly a uniquely British thing (may the rest of the world be grateful...) This bunch of comedy straw-chomping West Country farmer stereotypes were responsible for a string of hits in the mid-Seventies.
(That's "hits" with a silent "s" at the beginning, by the way...) After such classics as "I Am A Cider Drinker" and "I've Got A Brand New Combine Harvester", they failed miserably to slip into obscurity, instead polluting pubs and clubs around the West Country to this day...
In fact, they still seem to be pretty popular around that corner of the world... Curious... Also officially the writers of the 3rd most annoying record in the UK ever (the aforementioned "Combine Harvester" song...)
Most sane people wish that they'd just go and jump under their damn combine harvester...
