How about an ongoing alliterative story or conversation? Each person posts a sentence (or fragment) that is mostly alliterative, then nominates the next letter ... for example:
"Busily biting beef, Bertie burped ..." next letter = G
"Goodness, gracious, Garth groaned!" next letter = ...and so on ...

That's a fantastic idea, Kes! May I plaigarise your post in the entry?
(I will credit you for the idea, of course)

Alliteration haikus! Example:
Tommy tries to take
Tyler's terra-cotta tint.
Ty terminates Tom.

That's a good idea; but I'm not sure whether it would be better here or on the Haiku Challenge page. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Well, you could make the Haiku Challenge page a subpage of the Word Gymnastics page (just link to it from here), and then put the alliteration haiku on the Haiku Challenge page. I think the Haiku Challenge qualifies as a subsection of the Word Gymnastics. That's what I think, anyway.

How about word association?
For example
Hat
Rack
Lamb
Chop
Wood
etc.

How about "The Alphabet Story", One person starts, passing on to whoever dares come next. The story starts with a word beginning with A, the next word beginning with B ... and so on until it comes to a graceful close anywhere in the alphabet.
For example, a story might start:
"A beautiful china doll, entertaining friends, grew hazy if ........."
