And all shall be well and
All manner of THING shall be well
When the tongues of flames are in-folded
into the crowned knot of fire
And the fire and the rose are one.
TS Elliot - last 5 lines of the 4 quatets
I just quoted that over at uniforms to the lovely thingite, Angelicon and I thought it should also come here. What do i find but that silly pirate coming here and cursing and foul mouthing. Well take this pirate, its THING; the grates have spoken of us in our language... so we're watching you carefully......

!!
Pierce is not just *any* silly pirate, Red. He is the *foremost* pirate of all h2g2! As the dashing, roguish Captain of the tall ship, 'The Blood of the Zaphodistas', Pierce is highly respected and feared by thousands, if not squillions of his vanquished victims and is famed the world over. Pierce is widely known for his brash mischief with women, so he'd be perfect for the role of "Sole Protector of the One Master Key to the Chastity Belts of All Female Thingites, (you know: one key to rule them all, one key to bind them and all that?)". Obviously, he can be trusted with that.
I, for one, am willing to completely overlook his inadvertent misspellings of our beloved 'Thing'.
Welcome to the clan, Pierce! Clive should be along shortly to make your membership official and all that stuff.
*seats Pierce at an honored spot at the Thingite table*

AK - fancy that! Posted Dec 14, 2003
the rate of posts should be increasing somewhat exponentially.
considering that the number of active members on hootoo is probably a great deal more than when 3n started... (or not?), and a grater number of people *should* be posting on 3n. Though I'm not sure about that. If no one left who's been staying then eventually we should have about twice as many regular posters, thus bringing it down to, hopefully, more like 10 or 11 years. (no maths involved)Wish no one woudl leave... then that would be right...

I hear they managed to dig up Goddam Insaine... From the photographs, they caught him just in time - another week and he'd have bleached his hair & beard, put on a red suit and melted into the night.
Apparently, they confiscated $75,000 and an orange-and-white taxi. So all this time he's been working as a New York cabbie, fleecing the tourists...

Well, *that* was random.
At any rate... Pierce , you are certainly welcome to join the ranks of Thingism, but you have to realize that once you are a full fledged member (being gabbled by Clive and all that), we really expect you to use the proper day names, at least in Thingite forums. Learn them and use them in good health:
Sodit, Wimpy, Wibble, Thing, Poets, Doobry, Dontbry.
We've burned at least one Thingite Washcloth at the stake for heresy, and others are scheduled to go on trial, but the dockets seem to be awfully full lately, so we haven't quite gotten around to it yet.
Actually, I think she burned *herself* at the stake, but that's immaterial... the threat was still there.
