They count as two words, yes.

I had to write a rather annoying piece on word creation. (And have to remember it for an exam coming up soon)

Now I have to resist the urge to bore with informational on derivational affixes and the like.

More interestingly, flammable and inflammable mean the same thing.

To quote Dr Nick "how can INflammable be FLAMMABLE!?"

I guess the meaning of one of them got muddled at some point. Stupid language, can never stay the same for long.

I blame Samuel Johnson. (the guy who made spellings fixed and life so much harder for all schoolchildren)

I know! Why can't we all just use telepathy?! It'll save us a world of hassle!

But then the lecturers would know I daydream through their lectures... Some are actually more boring than school teachers!
