You can add them on the credits yourself, you know, even on a non-edited page.
In the edit entry page, you can type their u-numbers in a list-box and it has you as the editor and them as writers.
Don't know if this is particularly helpful, but I was just browsing and spotted it.

I haven't worked with the new system yet. When I wrote this there weren't any boxes. Thanks for the hint though.
