The best beer I know is "Hüchelner Urstoff". I'd be VERY surprised if anbody else on h2g2 knows it because it's exclusively brewd in a little pub ("Urstoff Schänke") in Frecheln-Hücheln near Cologne.
They've got a lovely Biergarten there! And the food's great too!!!!
Urstoff is a very smooth and cloudy (is that the right word for "trüb"???) beer.
And it's delicious!!!!
If you ever have the chance to try it, try it!!!!!

The beer made at the brewery in Andechs near Munich is quite marvellous. The fresher the better. Even in neighbouring Herrsching, you had better make sure the bar gets a fresh barrel in. Like all good things they are enjoyed in the right place at the right time.
Andechs's spezial hell lager is also made under licence in Canada. OK, stop laughing. It is actually quite good, and does taste quite like it should. The ingredients I am guessing are probably partly Canadian - the malt I think is different and gives a little bit of a different pallette and body. But still it does deserve the name - I don't think the original stuff would survive the trip well enough to give it justice.
The American Water Spaniel is a relatively rare breed (about 270 are registered with the AKC) in the US, except on the beer dairy. This breed was selected for its copious and reliable liquid output and the fine quality of it, which is filtered, pasteurised, carbonated and a very tiny amount of ethanol added. Then it is aged in steel tanks for a couple of days with some beechwood chips thrown in, to make the refreshing beverage - enjoyed Worldwide.
