Hi Websailor! Yet another interesting 'angle' on wildlife you came up with - I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Isn't it funny how poor little animals and plants become entangled in political issues they have nothing to do with! I think at least some people over here have suggested the logical 'fix' of using both the springbok and the protea as sport emblems.

Yes, it it surprising how the wildlife gets mixed up with human silliness, and it is also surprising how big a part they play in our lives that we actually don't notice. We would be so much poorer without them, yet people do not seem to realise that.
Hope your Dad is doing ok. Must run as I have been shovelling snow and coal this morning and must now get the Sunday lunch. I just nipped online for a quick look and a sit down
