as wrote on my p/space
"I have the greatest respect for everyone on this planet for their own PEACEFUL religious beliefs and faiths, but I myself am a Aethiest, I do not believe in any god/creator..I do not push my non belief on to others - therefore I do not want others to push their's onto me....."
I can talk about both sides and never get angry. Both have many questions, but no real answers

Prof - good convo starter. Do you feel like putting it in the convo at the bottom of here: A4497492?
My two penn'orth:
That's all well and good. However, imagine a nice, fluffy, tolerant theist. That theist will, presumably, have the view that morality and goodness are connected with religion. They will therefore see good into bringing their religious views to bear on social and political issues.
However...in that case they can have no argument against irrationalists from opposing camps who also want to bring their less fluffy beliefs to bear. How can they argue that one irrationality is true and another false? Remember - that those who hold less acceptable religious views regard themselves as good, moral people too.
So...the way out is secularity. And Rationalism is the only basis for any meaningful debate.
Do I make sense?

be that be the 'quick question, a book I'd read' or 'atheist fundamentalism' thread
If there was no mankind on this planet, would god still exist and if there is a god, why only choose mankind, to believe in him and not all living species on this planet

As a Muslim we believe that all living things are Muslim and gloryify God in their own way. But humans have free will and so have the choice to worship or not to worship.

Adib...just moving this to the main thread. It's good to get a contribution from an intelligent religionist. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F2217673?thread=695898&latest=1
