I think we had some gerbils when I was small, my father bought two budgies, and my stepdad had a fat rat, but our first real pet was a grey tabby cat named Chuck (short for Woodchuck Findus Katerli)...

They're regular 'house cats' but they're big. I think they're both 15-25 lbs. I've never weighed them but I did measure one around his waist. 24"!!! I think they've both lost a bit of weight since we moved into the house. More room to run around. One has huge furry paws and is really tall. They're just big cats.

My first pet... if I recall correctly... was a hamster. I named it Petsee. I was young and geeky. "He's a pet and you can see him!" :P

Meeka's belly is pretty loose and hangy so it swishes side to side when he runs! lol! Cylde is just really tall and has such long fur it's hard to tell if he's actually chubby or not.
Either way they're both happy and healthy and loving and insane the way a cat should be.

Since both my parents are biologists, I have been taught to respect creepy-crawlies... While I don't like big s, I refuse to kill them, I catch them using the old glass and postcard and throw them out. Ticks and mosquitoes are a different matter, but that's self-defense...

Not funny. NOT funny.
All creatures deserve respect. We wouldn't have the planet we do if it weren't for creepy-crawlies.

Tadpoles which never seemed to grow into frogs.
We fed them on crusts and kept them in jam jars in the coal shed. My father wouldn't have them in the house.
