Once the word completes, that's the end. perhaps bubbli- could have continued, but bubble is a whole word, although you can put things like -s and -d or even -ers on the end, it's a word in itself.
So right at the beginning, bu could be ended by putting a D or an M on it. Thus we come to the bit of this game that's a bit of a cow! forethought and trying to get the longest possible word that doesnt already have a shorter word at the start!
