h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

A huge stretch of sand. A path leads up a slight cliff to the town. Many boats are on the beach and there are several jagged rocks poking up from the water

*feels the fresh sea wind*

I haven't been down here in over 11 years!

*pokes his head through the portal*

yes its nice isn't it? *points at a taped off area*

there is the body of a fisherman killed by one of the creatures

*steves walks through*

BL: ok, off you go and be careful, those creatures are dangerous!

*he seals the portal, disapearing*

*goes over to look, the body is just a collection of bones, nearly stripped of all flesh*

*looks around warily and keeps one hand on his sword's hilt*

I think I might just go back and get a squad of flying pigs...

*returns through portal to BL' quarters*

*tamaire turns to go through the portal but realises its closed*

Damn, ah well it's just you and me Steve.

*unsheaths his sword*

There's a village just along the coast here if I remember correctly, I'd like to take a look there.

*walks towards village with Steve following*

On second thoughts its probably better if you stay here if the king or BL arrives.

*walks on*

*he walks quite a way from steve*

*there is a growl from behind him*

*spins round*

*something smashes him across the back of the head, knocking him to the ground. then he is picked up and hurled against one of the large rocks*

*after the initial assault Tamaire is held down but manages to elbow the creature in the face and free himself. His sword has been knocked out of his hands so resorts to punching it away*

*the creature, for it is one of the green things, snarls and then dives into the sea*

*walks over and picks up his sword*

What the hell are those things? *considers returning to see if Steve is ok but decides to continue* He's a big man, he can fend for himself...

*In the distance he can see the village but can't see whether it has been attacked or not yet*

*further down the beach black leopard appears with a flash and starts walking towards the dead body*

*Sir Big Steve stands on a long,empty stretch of beach watching the sea for activity. *

*examines the claw and teeth marks on the body*

but surely thats impossible..

*he walks over to steve*

how are things here?

Everything seems ok, Nothing going on out to sea. General Tamiare disappeared some time ago but I think he's investigating the village.

right. now come with me, i have something to show you

*he leads steve over to the body*

ok, now look at the claw marks in particular, is there anything strange you see about them?

I'm not really an expert on claws but they look strange, It's not an animal native to restite
