Please use this forum to sign up for the Perseids Project.
We'll need your name and researcher number as well as the location from which you'll be observing. (please be as specific as possible with the location).
Thanks!

How is U32373 also in Cheltenham (Charlton Kings to be exact [51.8830N, 2.0510W to be even more exact]). I'll be out there. Gets cold and lonley though, and cold.
I normally have sleeping bag, garden recumbant, thermos of coffee or soup, food! and many socks.
Hay if there are a number in any area a groupe observation could be organised. More accurate.
Nick

We will try and give it a shot. Aberdeen Beach, we will see what we can see, weather willing, and it is the brightest part of the sky, so maybe not much.....

I will try and see what I can come up with. I'll be located in Shropshire for the weekend (between Bridgenorth and Craven Arms - better details if I make some observations).

shazzPRME... user 48304.
I will be based in Alphen Aan Den Rijn, Holland, and will be equipped with sleeping bag, socks, and a few beers
Hopefully I will persuade TowelMaster to join me... if not, he will be spending a cold night in bed alone! LOL
The forecast looks good here... infact I am just about to go and take a sneak preview as the sky is clear and it is 11.30pm!

Luckily, beeline is doing the map stuff for this project. But to make life easier for me, a poor Yank, can you guys be a bit more specific on your locations.
I'm guessing that Aberdeen Beach is in Scotland? And Shropshire is somewhere in England?
A little help here. I mean, throw me a freaking bone people.

Well I was as acurate as I can be till I get there and see a map
I'll be going away with the canoe club and I'm not sure where the hostel is that we're going to, so if I manage to get you an observation then I'll include full details of location.
And you're right Aberdeen Beach is Scotland, Aberdeen at a guess, in the far NE of scotland, Shropshire is in the English/Welsh border.

I'm pretty sure I can get a lat/long for anywhere on Earth with a name. And I'm in the UK so I know most of that. I'm pretty familiar with the good mapping sites on the Web as well - things like the Getty Geographical Thesaurus have literally everywhere. I challenge anyone! Muuwwwahahahahahah! *ahem*
It doesn't really matter if we don't get a location down to 1 second of arc - that's about 30 feet - it's not like we're measuring anything very scientifically anyway - just counting!
That's a good lot of researchers already - good work people. Oh, and I'll be out as well until I fall asleep.

30 feet, cool!
Why not do something scientific with the results? When on the page why not notify eyther a major meteor watch or and Nat Astro Society?
