It's an extremely detailed article about the world's first true ironclad.

As Blue bottle says, it *is* an extremely detailed article.
It is exhaustive but not exhausting.
Reading through, the article is more about ironclads in general rather than just about HMS Warrior - would it be more suitable entitled 'Ironclad Battleships' or something similar?
I can't comment on technical stuff cos I don't know a poop from a stern, but to be honest, I doubt its anything short of spot on.
I was thoroughly engaged by this article about a subject I normally find as interesting as the fluff in my navel.
It goes on my list of entries to be recommended to the Towers.
If one of the other scouts doen't nominate it when it is their day, I will when it is mine.

Thanks, I'm really glad you liked it.
I am going to have a re-write soon, though, to tidy up some of the loose ends I've noticed and add a bit more detail. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate knowing, among other things, how the Astronomer Royal managed to solve the problem of the compass in an iron ship.

I'll not offer it to the towers this time around (ie 12th september - my day), but I will the month after, to give you time to re-write it to your satisfaction.

Okay - thanks. I've just got a few things to tighten and some more information to find out. You know how it is - you think it's done, then you notice a little thread sticking out, and when you pull it a little to neaten the article up the whole thing unravels.
