Whilst translating a control system for Norway, we used phrases from the famous Pythin Bulgarian phrasebook, including "hovercraft full of eels" instead of "tom vekter" (empty hoppers, to you).
It nearly caught us out: during final testing we got a system message which was diagnostic only but could appear if a cable came loose. it said "Please fondle buttocks" - oops!
Needless to say the practice of using fake Norwegian was then banned by common consent, along with the Spoonerism "Sodding Chipbury" for Chipping Sodbury.
