Can anyone help? I seem to remember a thread about anti-Americanism. How do I go about finding it? I've tried the search function, with no joy.

The conversation search option was disabled because it kept crashing the site when people used it.

Can you remember anything else about the thread, eg the area it was in, whether you posted on it (or any unusual person did) etc?

I think it might have been called "What's wrong with Americans". It was probably in Ask. I don't know who contributed.

That's the worst possible forum! Making it even more of a shame that you can't use a rarely-posting user as a shortcut.

Sorry SEF, I don't. The reason I ask is that I just found this A986709 by U162183. He hasn't been around since 04. I would expect if there were any threads running, he would be involved. But I've only been here since 06.

Note that people can (and do) clear out their MP lists. So he could have been involved without you necessarily seeing it.

Ah, I see Jim has invoked his superpowers of thread finding (otherwise known as typing a direct request to the database, perhaps).

In this case, the (quite old) copy of the database that I use for development on my laptop. If the thread's old enough, I can find it with a simple select query.
