The database for the search engine is only updated every so often. Jim might know the precise pattern. It means that new entries don't show up in searches for a while (until the next refresh/trawl).

Not a reference to "Magic: The Gathering" is it? That's something from my distant past that appears to be hauled up in front of me since I started haunting h2g2 
If it were me, I'd have called it "a blessed scroll of create monster" (but that's cos I'm a bit obsessed with NetHack atm 
)...

It's not MtG, Owl, and higher beings were included, MaW. It is from a game but it got converted into a regular expression (local joke).

"Monster" in NetHack is what other role-playing games would typically call "NPC", as in any creature in the dungeon that is not the player. For example, every character starts with a pet, and the game always refers to that as a "monster" (much to players' delight) 
A "blessed" scroll has a more powerful effect than a normal (uncursed) one, so I figured that to summon a monster as powerful as Jim, one would need a blessed scroll.
