What happens if I change my nickname?

Hi folks,
If I change my nickname by adding a "Keeper" bit or summat, which it change how I have to Sign On? I.e. will have have to type in the whole nickname or will I still be able to sign on just using "queeglesproggit"?

Your nickname and the bbc id name you sign on with are completely independent of each other. Changing your nickname will not affect your signing in name.

maybe a bit more specification is needed.
Your username is the one you enter while logging on to BBC or h2g2. This should NOT be changed.
Your nickname can be changed by pressing "Preferences" on your userspace, and is placed there with "nickname". You may put anything you like (within the houserules of course).
Generally it is best to keep the first part the same so people will recognise you, and vary the second part with whatever you like.

Queegle,
you got a formal lot of stuff because there was the possibility that you would change your login name into an interesting line.
And then you might have to create a new account to wail how to get your id back and how to cancel that second account
If you don't understand that last part, try 'nighthoover' in the searchengine
