It's a dilemma, regularly. 
Perhaps you'll want to go on and mention how it both softens and hardens other consonants?
It takes the sibilant 'C...', as in cease, and hardens it to 'Ch..." as in Chase; while it takes the sibilant 'S...", as in size, and softens it further as 'Sh...' as in Shy.
A most inconsistent, and sometimes unpronounced, consonant!

To be honest I don't feel that this is something that could go in the Edited Guide, which is where I assume you were heading with this?
This is definitely more alternative than edited worthy. It's opinion...I don't mind the letter H. It's just another letter as far as I'm concerned. I mean...why not pick on K? or S? or silent letters?
Do you see what I'm saying? This sort of thing will never go through Peer Review.

And anyway, S and K do not have the same annoying traits that H does.

However we all feel about individual letters there is a place for each letter in the day...or something stupid and righteous like that 
If you've done ranting about poor H now could you take this entry out of the CW for us?
