I'll do the other Artists' pages sometime next month (after I've moved and gotten my final papers written and married off my sister smiley - puff)

Ok, since you kindly took on the other Artists' page, I'll try my luck at Subeditors-What or EditedGuide-Process next smiley - ok

smiley - cheers

I haven't looked closely at those two, so I don't know how much work they need. Part of the work is going to be determining what, if anything, needs fixing. smiley - erm

Well, EditedGuide-Process at least is unclear in places - I've been reading through the comments below to see what needs fixing. smiley - ok

I'd like to make it clearer that the subbie can't change anything after it's been returned, and that there's no guarantee it'll be done by a certain point.

Most subbies also leave a message when they're done, but that should be more strongly recommended, too smiley - winkeye

Definitely - I always leave a message for the author, but I've had a number of my own entries sent off without a chance to look at them.

I've seen a few cases where the author was threatening to take their name off it because of changes, so it's definitely better to have them discussed. smiley - erm

Even if it's just because someone doesn't know the language/terminology so mis-corrected some things.

I'm looking at EditedGuide-Process now.

It starts with the line "The 'Editorial Process' is the name for what happens to an entry once it has been picked from Peer Review by the Scouts."

But <./>DontPanic-Editing</.> is the FAQ for the Editorial Process, which describes the *entire* process of getting an Entry into the Guide - a much more accurate use of the term, I think.

Any ideas? "The Edited Guide Process" sounds silly, but it is the name of the page...

Though I just saw that that page *also* goes by the name Subeditors-Process, which is more reasonable.

"Congratulations - Your Entry has been Picked for the Edited Guide!" always links to EditedGuide-Process, and Peer Review covers all of the stuff before an entry is picked, so it's probably better to keep the two linked but separate.

Yes, of course having two distinct help pages isn't a bad thing, but the titles are confusing. That's why I'm also working on the automated messages.

I think EditedGuide-Process ought to be an alternate name for DontPanic-Editing, not Subeditors-Process. It *probably* won't be changed, due to old links, but I'll link to it by the name Subeditors-Process in the new message anyway smiley - ok
