Why can I not access this on my Nokia 3410? If the Beeb can manage to put news on WAP, why is this not accessible? Especially seen as the original WAP h2g2 was accessible on something less than a smartphone or PDA?
Also, it would seem ever so slightly silly to make a WAP version of h2g2 on the phones which can access the internet pretty much normally anyway (I know that at least my friend's phone can access e-mail pages which have no WAP equivalents), but what do I know? The Beeb may have a reason...

We needed to reskin the site for mobiles and PDAs, as the current skins take up a lot of space and sometimes break. We also needed the pages to be 'lighter' so they were cheaper to browse
Also we wanted to launch on Smartphones because it's easier to work backwards than forwards, so we aimed high, and now we need to get the funding to work on what's in many ways the easier proposition. Fingers crossed, that'll be the next project. Thanks for the feedback - it's great to know that it'll be something people might be looking forward to.
Regards,
Jimster

Can anyone tell me if my Nokia 6310 will be able to access it?

I just bought a Samsung d500 with which to replace my old Nokia, and it looks lovely. Good job, Auntie Beeb!
