Roswell Incident - Explanation

0 Conversations

There are indeed some curiosities associated with this incident.
Strange that the 509th Bomb group, who were based at Roswell Army AirField ( as it was back then) were used to launching weather balloons every day, and yet one of their Majors could not recognise one! No Sir, it took a General to come down, and identify it for them.

Also, the official Airforce explanation seems to be somewhat Intriguing.

When they discovered that the great unwashed public, were becoming a little disgruntled with the "weather balloon" explanation, they quickly put together another explanation, in the hope that people would accept it and go away. The all-new, revised explanation went something like...

Yeah, OK we put our hands up, it wasn't really a weather balloon at all, it was a "PROJECT MOGUL" balloon - (this it transpires was a hugely secret balloon, with a hugely secret bit of tinfoil selotaped to the end of it.)

This explanation stood the test of time, for many years, until somebody mentioned "The Body's" At first it was dismissed by the Air Force, but when others started to chime in, they became a little red faced, and so drew up the third "official explanation" This third explanation was actually the best and most imaginative, and went something like this...

OK... The Body's seen by the witnesses were actually "parachute testing dummies" - Yes, said the masses, but you didnt start dropping dummies until the mid 1950s, this incident happened in 1947

Ah, said the Air Force, but what happened was people who saw the Project Mogul balloon crash 1947, also took a day trip out to the same spot several years later, and saw test dummies being dropped. As time has progressed, their memories of the event have become distorted, and they are mixing the two events up.

This is where we stand today... and that's the official explaination.
