Sorry, I was annoyed at losing what I'd written and wanted to go to bed so I thought it was better to say that I had reservations than not say anything. smiley - ok To be more constructive (and taking care with my Ctrl and Shift buttons!)...

What date and month?

That goes without saying so what effect, if any, did WW2 have on his life?

What type of Christian? Catholic?

How much is 'a great deal' and how long is 'a while'?

Who are they?

In what way? Take monastic vows, train to be a priest, undertake missionary work?

Who attempted suicide? Who attempted murder? I think more clarity is needed.

Give more examples of his theatre work (for example, he was in the RSC) and give some examples of the major roles he played. It may also be worth mentioning the influence his theatre work had on his acting career.

I think that 'the Doctor' section needs more detail. How did he get the role? How did being the Doctor affect his life? Why did he leave? How did he feel about the role after he'd left? Consider that he wouldn't return for 'The Five Doctors' anniversary special in 1983- a decision he has subsequently regretted- and that he did return to Who projects (such as providing commentary for the 'Tom Baker Years' VHS release and the links for the Shada VHS release in the 1990s.) I don't know his relationship with Dr Who conventions but it's worth checking and noting and he has contributed many commentaries to the DVD releases of Dr Who.

'After the Doctor' seems too brief. Has Tom done so little in 27 years? He was in 'The Lives and Loves of a She-devil' which was somewhat shocking for mid-eighties television. ITV's 'Medics', in which he starred, attracted large audiences in the early nineties. He has also done voiceover work, Toshiba adverts spring to mind, (particularly post-Little Britain) presumably because of his ditinctive voice (the fact about him being number four is brilliant wonko smiley - ok.) I'm not saying that there should be an exhaustive list of his work but I think the entry needs more than it has.

I expect the Eds or whoever will tidy up some of the spelling and grammar (and create the links to other Guide entries that you've mentioned A280892A215993 etc.) You've probably arranged the Entry in as good a way as any because it wouldn't work if you'd done it purely chronologically but I think it needs more precision as to when things happened. Either give more dates or state how long the period of time you refer to was (or both.)

Like I said, I think it's a good start but, for an Entry about the life and times of a man who will be seventy-five next year, I think it needs much more to it.

Van smiley - run

In which case can I suggest you remove this from PR for the time being and resubmit it when you've finished it.
