Oh, I don't think so, Opti. As you can see from the list of changes I suggested, the content was nearly perfect - it just needed a little bit of tidying.

As I said in Post 2 -
>>I'm also not sure on the content of this piece in regards to copyright law (swathes seem to be indirectly quoted from 'Who On Earth is Tom Baker'), so perhaps you should try to be a little more succinct, or use your own words more.<<
I'm not sure if this has been addressed properly, so remain concerned, but if others feel the piece is now rewritten enough on its own merits, then fair enough. Not for me to stand in the way.

Is that a website that this is similar to, Matt? Can you provide a link?
If you think this is in breach of copyright, you should Yikes it and let the moderators decide. That's the recommended way of bringing it to the attention of the moderators and Eds.

No, it's the book passages are similar to, and I'm not a Scout. I'm bringing that to their attention, as they are the one's who should check these concerns before selecting an Entry for inclusion.

i believe that all the passages that were similar to ones in the book were taken out or changed. if you wouldn't mind pointing out what is still similar to the book i'll change it. thanks

Like I said, it's up to the Scouts in regards to issues such as copyright, I'm just highlighting the fact that I was concerned with the first draft of the Entry. If you feel you've addressed those concerns, then fine.
Have you looked into what others have mentioned, such as Tom living in France?

i have actually. if you reread the entry all the way to the bottom you'll find it mentioned.

I did reread thankyou, and simply missed the small mention that he'd 'moved to France'.
Good luck with your Entry, ta ra!

i hope it gets selected. are you allowed to recommend stuff to the scouts if you happen to be friends with one? or is that what peer review is for?

It's up to the scouts to pick it if they think it is suitable.
If they think it is not suitable, they should make suggestions as to how you should change it to make it suitable.

How do we check its similar to the book if we havent read the book? it should be the athor who writes the entry in her own words

it is in my own words. can you just trust me on that? i don't like plagiarism and wouldn't do it. anyway it's progressed beyond that stage.

I wouldn't be happy with this as a Guide entry It's a good start but there is much that needs to be addressed. I had started to make specific points but I hit Ctrl+something rather than Shift+something and lost the tab I was writing in

I suggest then, van smeiter, that you type in your impressions again, because until you tell us what you think is wrong with it, the author will be unable to make any improvements.

that would be a good idea. i would appreciate that. how much do you think is wrong with it and what exactly don't you like?
and i don't mind harsh comments if they make my entry better and get it included in the guide.
thanks
