Rael

I too am a Benz freak. Still driving my first car ever (owned it for about 4 yrs now), a 1980 MB 240D (123 series). A nice "starter Benz," as it's been through hell and back and only rarely does it remind me that it IS twenty years old and deserves to be treated a little gingerly, thank you very much. A few rattles and creaks here and there (and OK, let's be honest, a schizophrenic left side headlight that can't decide if it wants to be a low beam, a high beam, or mated inextricably to the lovely amber foglights... does ANYONE know how to properly troubleshoot a bad electrical ground in this headlight assembly?), but she's still putt-putt-putting away. Unfortunately pon a teacher's salary in the US (a first-year teacher, at that) I can't expect to be living the lifestyle to support my Benzaholism anytime soon, but I'm actually hoping to upgrade to an E-class wagon (gasp... yes, a wagon) in the next few years. Maybe one from the early or mid-nineties, when they started using those cool-looking rounded front ends. Sexy.

ge, rael, we're pretty alone here, eh?! *lol* my first benz experience was a 123, too, albeit a 1983 240 D one. it was sahara yellow, no lables, and i looooooved it! i liked driving it a lot more than the newer models, actually, cos it wasn't so smoothed up and had a lot more oomph to it. right now, unfortunately, i'm still (f**k student finance) on my polo, but at least i can look forward to a benz now when my dad retires in like two years... it's gonna be a 1992 250 D (124) without labels in pansy green (what a lovely colour code, eh?! endlessly debatable). i'm looking very forward to it... *slobber* my parents will get themselves a 230 kompressor then, and god have mercy on their souls if they don't let me drive it! *lol* what colour is yours?

IFBenz

I totally am obsessed with Mercedes, I come froma family who loves the car, when I was growing up my parents accumulated around 15 or so, when I turned 16 my dad bought me a brand new E500- I love the E seris, and my mom gets a new SLK 600 every other year! I love the brand, the prestige of owning one, and the beauty that the car emeplifies. To me it is so much more than a car, and I hate it when others try to tell me otherwise. I have visited German allmost every summer because I try to travel to Europe at leats once a year, and I always stay at Sttutugart, because my Dad besides from being a Benz Buff, is a Porsche buff, (don't worry we onyl ahve 5 of those, but one is a rare orginal 1978 930 turbo carerra, very fast with the fat back end and whale tail) I love cars, and German engineers simply can't be beat.
