Let me just say I'm impressed with this beautiful piece of writing. Let me just say that it really struck a chord within me. I am 15 years old, and I've read Lady Chatterley and Left Hand of Darkness and all that and let me just say that I know what you mean, if you know what I mean. Thank you for writing something so meaningful to me.

Rising Tide

My pleasure echomikeromeo.

When I wrote it I still considered my sexually formative years to have made me some kind of freak, but the response that this entry got has shown me that in fact the experience of self-assessment and a slow self-definition is incredibly common, on this site at least.

I have also come to the conclusion that although some people know who and what they are in a sexual way almost instinctively, others of us have to learn it. The experience of learning, of interpreting the experiences one has (and the experience of not having experiences, if you see what I mean), is probably more valid than just getting out there and mindlessly screwing anything that crosses ones path.

It took me a long time to get there but, boy, has the path been interesting, even (especially?) the celibate times.

Incidentally, this account is available for publishing stuff with even mroe anonymity than is possible here, and has been used by several different researchers to do so. If you ever have anything you'd like to put here, just drop me a line. The email address is on the personal space.

Kind regards.

Rising Tide.
