Labor Day, legal holiday in all 50 states in the USA and in Canada, this holiday honors working people and is held on the first Monday in September.
All federal, state and local governmental offices are closed in the US. There is no mail delivery and banks are closed. It is considered to be the last 'official' day of summer.
