The birth in 1832 of the Rev. Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, a fairly obscure Oxford Don, He lectured in Mathematics and wrote little known books on logic. He was also something of a pioneer of photography. He is probably better known as Lewis Carroll under which name he published the two Alice books, The Hunting of the Snark and numerous other works. He died on 14th January 1898 in Guildford.
