I dreamt you were dead last night.
I watched you die and everyone else
Searched for your money and possessions

It was left to me to find you a coffin.

Your ex wife organised your funeral to fit
In-between shopping trips and arranged
For it to rain “To get it over with”

I let it wash over my face to hide my tears.
Everyone else had brought umbrellas.

My late father said “We’re going now”
And took my mother’s hand
“But you’re not dead yet!” I said to her

She nodded at your grave. “Neither is he” she laughed.
