Do you have hard or soft water? I've always lived in hard (chalk-filtered) water areas, and when I've visited friends in soft water areas, the difference is quite noticeable.

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am...

Soft water definitely has more 'flavour' to it than hard water... when we're camping in Wales the difference is really noticable.

HN, that is some serious lack of water. I do hope it fills up, but it looks like it'll take ages smiley - sadface

Came across a similar water dam/pond in a newsflash from Australia. Normally fertile lands are just dust, and the cows starve. Bad stuff.

Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.")

For that sort of money, I'd expect the shuttle room to be able to take off - so potentially you could take off, enter orbit and land somewhere more palatable.

I'm sure the entire edifice is a space ship, but the bridge is in need of a refit. They can pull out the old CRTs for a start and install flat screens.

Five million quid isn't too bad for a three story space shuttle with the original wainscoting.

Titania (gone for lunch)

I love the look of the house from the outside, and I find several of the rooms quite interesting too. It actually reminds me a lot of the small castle that I tried to design in my teens, drawings and all - although I failed to notice any proper library in any of the photos, with book shelves covering each wall up to the ceiling, with one of those ladders-on-wheels to reach the topmost shelves, a leather-topped writing desk, comfy worn leather armchairs, one of those big smiley - earth perched on a wooden frame, preferrably showing the world according to the medieaval ages, that opens up to reveal a collection of fine whisky.

I'm sure one of the rooms could be converted to something like that...

Titania (gone for lunch)

...but it doesn't have the grand entrance hall I planned back then - either with a broad, straight staircase leading halfway up narrowing towards the top (Hollywood style) or two gently curving staircases mirroring each other leading to a platform halfway up to the next floor
