Will the brave away crew be able to save Affy? Only time will tell.

Bluebottle Posted Sep 16, 2000
Brave? Are you saying that everyone who's not in this particular away team isn't brave? Huh!

*Afgncaap5 docks the CLI Mini-UFO with the Esirpretne, and hops out. He was rescued from the tourist traps of Beyond, but is still slightly under the spell of the voyage. He rushes to his quarters (not to be confused with his office), and walks up to a very large book shelving area. As soon as the doors close, Affy snaps his fingers three times, and the book case turns around, revealing a very large trophy case, containing treasures and jewels from around the galaxy (Zork, Risa, Earth, etc.). Affy take a newly aquired gem from the mission to Beyond, and looks at the trophy case. According to YK, this gem has magic-like abilities, and based on the approximate size, weight, and shape of the gem, Affy decides where to put it*
Yes, I was right before. This should go in the "Magic Artifacts" section, sub-section "Precious Stones", and right next to the Wishbringer stone. I'll analyze it later.
*Affy snaps his fingers again, and the book case turns around, completely hiding the case. Not for the first time, Affy wonders why he even bothers to hide the case; he is, after all, the only one who is capable of removing objects from it. After thinking about this for a while, Affy leaves his quarters, and goes to the Bridge to await the arrival of the rest of the away team. While Affy waits on the Bridge, the robot in Affy's office peaks it's head into the hallway, and begins to walk down the halls*

[YK & clo. barge into the bridge]
[YK] Affy, that thing in your hands isn't worth more than a flashlight. I mean, yeah, it's a cool gem, but you don't know how to use it. You'd end up looking very silly, or dead, or both, trying to use it.
[YC] He can't die and we're supposed to be silly. This is the H2G2.
[YK] Oh okay cool.
[YQ] There are five Mirabilis gems ... and only two are in the Milky Way ... hmmm.

*Beams aboard with Wendy, who appears to be hitting him over the head with some sort of bag*
[Wendy]You go and do something stupid like that again Croz and you'll regret it.
But all I did was save your life..
[Wendy]Yeah, at your expense. You could have got yourself killed for Dante's sake. You mean to much to me...
*Everyone goes quiet and stares at Croz and Wendy*
What? Why are you all staring?
Onward to Planet The!
Chris Tonks Posted Sep 27, 2000
*people stop staring at him as Pr. C. Tonks' voice appears over the comms unit...*
Well that's that done eh?
Where are we off to now then? Oh, and can I come with you? I mean...I'm sure I did *something* down there...
*takes a sip at his latest cup of tea on the Smallcy...*

Bluebottle Posted Sep 27, 2000
Wendy - just like a woman, aren't you?
Supposed to turn up 2 weeks later, but only just now does she arrive....
Probably was busy putting make-up on...
Urm, guys, I think we need to employ a new scriptwriter.
*Sriptwriter commits suicide behind the camera...*
Soon.

Mew (who is hovering in midair unless otherwise stated) Posted Sep 27, 2000
[Atilla the Hutt is looking very furious at four pink holograms and one red hologram, each of a Mew. Mew Five is the red one]
[Atilla] How could you have failed!?
[First Mew] }Relax. We can get them back. "The" is a mining world. All we need to do is --{
[Atilla] That is not the point! The point is that you were not able to recover the Mirabilis Gem! And the MewMech 1 is a total loss!
[First Mew] }Keep your shirt on.{
[Atilla] I'm not wearing a shirt.
[First Mew] }Never mind that. Fixing the MewMech will be easy. Getting our "bargain" plan to work will be just as easy. And then we can get the rest of the Gems. Got it?{
[Atilla] Do not dictate me. Ever.
[First Mew] [sharply] }You'd just better keep your half of the bargain!{
[Atilla immediately relaxes]
[Atilla] Of course . . . . I'm a merchant, and as such, credibility means EVERYTHING to me. Ho ho ho ho ho.
[The holograms disappear]

Afgncaap5 Posted Sep 28, 2000
*Affy turns to YK, wondering how he knew about the things he did while no one was looking (such as stealing the stone and hiding it). Affy decides not to ask that question, but to do some explaining*
It doesn't matter to me how much it's worth. It's still a treasure. I remember on my first treasure hunt, finding a brass bauble, probably worth less than a can of soda. But it was still something...
Anyway, you say that there are five of those? And only two are in the Milky Way?
*Affy stares back at the list in his hand*
Okay, let's set a course for the planet The, and while we're at it, someone get a new scripwriter.
*Affy selects a red shirted extra to do some basic scripting until a new script writer comes along*
And remember, Ensign Overacheiver, if the script doesn't go smoothly until we can get a more qualified person, it'll mean the brig.

[Nerfal] It looks like things are starting to get interesting.
[Link] What do you mean "starting"?
[Nerfal] Hmm. Good point.
Onward to Planet The!
Afgncaap5 Posted Sep 29, 2000
*Then, due to the fact that the temp-scriptwriter is not very good at making time pass on trips, the voyage to Planet The doesn't take very long. Soon, the Esirpretne is just a few more minutes away*
Hey, I think we've figured out the fastest way to travel in the Galaxy-bad scripting!
Onward to Planet The!
Zak T Duck Posted Sep 29, 2000
Does this mean we have to improvise until we get a new scritwriter?
[Wendy] Great!
*Wendy drags Croz off to her quarters, Extracts to be shown on late night Channel 5 (apparently)*
Onward to Planet The!
Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Sep 29, 2000
[YK] Or through the Universe!
[YC] Another way is hyperdrive, but you don't get to see much on the way.
[YQ] Another is the Infinite Improbability Drive, but there's a chance that entire planets might turn into banana fruitcake.
[Link] Can we just go?
[YK] Why, soitenly! Nyuck nyuck nyuck nyuck!
[Nerfal] Humans...
[YK] I resemble that remahk!
Onward to Planet The!
Chris Tonks Posted Sep 29, 2000
*The Star Ship Smallcy reappears next to the Esirpretne. The reason it didn't stay with them was because it was taken by surprise by the bad scripting, and only used a wormhole to get here instead...*
*ie, not as quickly...*

[The.]
[The planet The is a mining planet. The interior has long since cooled down, to the point where the planet core can now safely be mined. The mines make up a maze of twisty turns, and one tunnel is big enough for the Esirpretne to get through. The atmosphere has dispersed to the point where only a Rock-Bun can survive there. A sensor signal which has been coming from the Tetrahedronal Mirabilis Gem is also detected somewhere through said big tunnel. BTW, YK, thanks for naming the gems.]

[The arrival of the Esirpretne is noticed by the watchers deep in the bowels of the planet. They notify MaW, Supreme Counter of Cookies, who immediately launches a single deadly anti-matter missile at the Esirpretne, choosing not to launch forty because otherwise he might win, and that would never do, would it?]

Hell...
*Pr. C. Tonks sends the Smallcy in an arc around to the front of the Esirpretne, and activates the CompreMatter Protection Sphere around himself, acting as a shield infront of the bigger ship...*
