A Conversation for Ruminations on loneliness after 15 years of marriage,

Well...here I sit trying to come up with a definition that fits within the "proper" realm of H2G2 definitions. I am also single after 15 years of marriage, and have been at it for 2 years. My thoughts/experiences go somewhere along this line:
Sudden "singleness" brings about a state of mind where anything goes but nothing feels right. You're now "free" but your mind is still attached to your previous spouse and previous lifestyle, at least subconsciously. Desperate attempts to break from this mold seem fruitless. Sacrificing your moral values doesn't help, nor does "doing the right thing."
When your long established "old life" is suddenly thrown to the dogs, establishing a new life that makes sense is almost impossible.
The first bit of advice can be found on the front cover: DON'T PANIC
The second bit of advice is: STOP PANICKING BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY YOU DIDN'T READ THE FRONT COVER!!!
Beyond that, find a way to forgive yourself, and find a good friend. You don't need 70 friends, just one good one. One that can be there for you, and that you can return the favor to. Be honest with your friend, and allow your friend to help you forgive yourself.
Take care of yourself: 3 meals and a shower every day, along with a little outdoor exercise (even a walk with your friend) will make a huge difference. Keep yourself fed and clean, and clean keep your living space clean. A clean environment makes a big difference. Just taking care of yourself is a huge undertaking, but it's essential to your wellbeing.
Let life in. Every attempt to keep life out will drive you further into a lifeless funk.
Stay away from "Marvin" and get yourself a "Colin" instead. Humor will keep you sane.
Finally, don't ever forget the meaning of "42," no matter how much it hurts.
