Hi all
Well, this is my fourth festive themed entry and, with luck, will be my 25th edited entry in due course. I will as ever add links in the next day or so, but any comments would be welcome.

One of the reasons why It's a Wonderful Life is shown on TV so regularly, is that in the 1970s an administrative error resulted in the film's copyright not being renewed. TV stations are therefore able to show it for free.

oops!
I like 4/5 of these films (I've not seen The Family Man) It’s a Wonderful Life has been parodied many times - in "Moonlighting" A716582 Cybill Shepherd's character Maddie Hayes had a similar visitation by an angel showing Moonlighting without Maddie and it made her realise she really loved Dave Addison (Bruce Willis).
I really like these types of entries, just right reading for early December put-you-in-the-mood-for-trimming-house which I was dreading.
Thank you SBE

Great! If the Eds have got any sense this will be on the Front Page over christmas!
I haven't seen two of these movies, but the entry is fantastic.
Only one small query:
"Martin Freeman plays an actor in a soft porn movie"
I don't think that's quite right, I think Martin and the girl were lighting stand ins for the real actors.

Quite right, Eco Worrier!
He was a lighting stand in. Will correct that now.
Thanks for that, and the kind comments.

What a fantastic entry! Makes me want to dig out the Christmas DVDs. Maybe I'll actually get around to watching Miracle on 34th Street this year.
One line I didn't understand, maybe if I had seen the film I would get it, but what does this mean?
"As far as he is concerned, Christmas is useful for stealing a march on his competitors because they will be working."

"It's a Wonderful Life" was Jimmy Stewart's first film after returning from his service as a (correct this if you know better) Lt. Colonel with the Army Air Force. He flew many missions as a bomber pilot.
It is said that he was very tired and underweight and he had trouble engaging in romantic activities with his screen wife because his real wife was on the set.
Capra himself had just returned from serving with a military film unit that made propaganda and prophylactic films (trying to keep the soldiers from getting the clap, which apparently was a major problem) at a place called, if I remember correctly, Fort Fox, at the Twentieth Century Fox studios, where Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss) also worked.

Nice one SBA
One slight typo - "a slightly reworded of the Wet Wet Wet hit from Four Weddings." I think you need the word version after reworded.

Hi all
Many thanks for the kind words. Have added in the extra info and attended to the typos. Cant get the links from imdb going yet as my ISP is providing me with painfully slow access at the moment!! Got the h2g2 links fitted in though. Glad its put some of you in the Christmas mood.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
