TRiG,

Rich has rightly praised all the work done by TRiG, and I would like to say thank you too for all the hard work you have put in. It was a real surprise to see the Beeblecast site and I still haven't had time to take it all in.

So much work had gone in to this venture I don't know how you all find the time or the energy.

smiley - bubbly for a sparkling first edition. Here's to many more smiley - cheers

I second that, Webbie! I'm so glad we now have a place to broadcast ourselves properly, and to show what this community can do.
Hooray for TRiG! smiley - bubblysmiley - applause

A friend's been teaching me PHP. It's surprising how much easier it got as it went on, actually. The player page was thrown together in a couple of minutes (though it did canibalise a lot from two other pages I already had).

I stole a lot of stuff. The framework of the stylesheet for the page layout is from a free tutorial. The javascript for the pop-up videoplayer is from the h2g2 complaints button.

Too modest, fella. Too modest. No TRiG, no website - simple as that.

Well smiley - cool. It's great, great fun and real hootoo. (Especially Nighthoover smiley - biggrin). You've done an astonishing amount of work for this smiley - applause.

Only complaint is I can't get the last of 2legs' audio clips to play. Might be my pc, but the other two played fine.

This is really neat!

I've done a slightly different workaround, and put the apostrophe back.

So you did smiley - biggrin. Good accompaniment to catching up with a couple of 'Ask' threads.

Dammit. That was my moment of techy glory, that. My 'look, I can fix things on the website too!' moment. And once again, I've been trumped smiley - biggrin

You could always have listened to it by means of the download link, anyway. That was working. Or you could have subscribed in iTunes and downloaded it that way.

Failure of imagination on your part, Waz!

smiley - evilgrin

Shanky, neither of us did proper fixes. Apostrophes in titles make the link not work. So you took the apostrophe out of the title. I took the title out of the link. You'll notice that the pop-up audioplayer no longer contains the title of whatever it's playing.

I'll work out a proper fix sometime.

The bug still exists on the pop-up videoplayer, but none of the video episodes have apostrophes anyway. Yet.

It was - trying the download never occurred to me. I'll have to find iTunes.

It would have had only the download links. The pop-up audioplayer was a last-minute addition, really. We had the videoplayer in from fairly early on, though.

After wrestling with the javascript for about half an hour, my geek friend now has the popup audioplayer working almost as it should. For some reason, Rad's Imaginary Holiday appears as Rad\'s Imaginary Holiday on the audioplayer, but we can live with that.

While he was at it, he changed the background colour from navy to some sort of grey. What say I change it back?

He also showed me some more efficiant ways of doing what I was doing, but the way I've done it works fine, so I'm leaving it alone. It'll be useful, though, for future additions to the site. (We'll think of something that needs adding to it, I'm sure.)

smiley - biggrin I think your doing great work with holding the site up, I still say it was made by a special team of pixis and elfs that you have held captive smiley - winkeye As for the names of my tunes, they're all utterly made up names on the spur of the moment as I have a boring system by which I just name all my tunes I do by the date I started recording them, well, a couple of exceptions where there just is* a name from the outset for the tune smiley - dohsmiley - evilgrin I'm sure we can think of somethign else.... how about an AV flash game smiley - winkeyesmiley - run

That's odd - I get 'Error on page' in IE now, and it just refuses to do anything at all in Firefox. And I agree that blue was much better - don't forget the link colours as well. And make sure you wash behind your ears.

A Flash AV game? Now that would be something smiley - laugh

Seems to be opening the pages fine without errors for me, using whatever old version of IE I've got on here at the moment smiley - biggrin
